literary agencies can be a scam!
Dear authors. Read this and don not be fooled!
There are many agencies out there that are taking your
money.
If you have one ounce of doubt, check it out yourself.
I am not an angry author who got rejected.
I rejected them.
If an agency sends you e-mails that sound too good, it
is because they aren't.
If they do not call you by your name, bail out.
If they send you general e-mails and do not mention one
word about the content of your book, bail out!!!
Here is an example.
"We believe that your book has what it takes to sell.
We will send you a contract. We just need you to have a critique."
You pay 100 dollars to a critique, which they refer to you. Then, they
never sell your book and split the money.
Do not believe me? Try it.
Before you do, ask them to explain why they chose your book.
You will not get a response.
You will get another general e-mail with some general concerns that they think
you have. They send the same to anyone who questions them.
Ask them to use your name in the next e-mail and they won't .
I cant believe how dumb they think you are.
They even have the nerve to write, "If we told you how many people think
we are a scam, you won't believe it."
They try to catch the young and ignorant.
Just ask them,, if they think your work is sellable, why can't they give
you even the shortest review of your book.
You will soon find out that no one read a page of your book.
